Responsibilities are shifting at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. A Feb. 20 Federal Register notice details organizational changes resulting from the creation of a new Office of Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act Standards. As the name suggests, the new office will be responsible for HIPAA enforcement. HIPAA had been the purview of the Office of Operations Management.
