Percutaneous tricuspid balloon valvuloplasty
Our hospital recently performed a percutaneous tricuspid balloon valvuloplasty in our cardiac catheterization department. There does not appear to be an appropriate CPT code available for this procedure when done percutaneously, as the existing procedure code(s) 33463-33464, Valvuloplasty, tricuspid valve; without ring insertion or with ring insertion, respectively, appear to reflect an “open” approach. Would it be appropriate to report CPT code 93799, Unlisted cardiology procedure, for the percutaneous tricuspid balloon valvuloplasty?
