The procedure performed is a diagnostic flexible sigmoidoscopy or colonoscopy with a balloon dilatation of the anastomosis site. Is the balloon dilatation included as part of the diagnostic procedure? AMA Comment Balloon dilatation is not an inclusive component of either a diagnostic sigmoidoscopy or diagnostic colonoscopy.
