June 2012 page 15a Surgery: Musculoskeletal System Question: A patient with a diagnosis of carpal tunnel syndrome undergoes a surgical procedure. A carpal tunnel incision in line with the fourth ray and crossing the wrist crease obliquely into the distal forearm was made. The antebrachial fascia was opened, the median nerve identified, and the transverse carpal ligament was cut from proximal to distal. The contents of the canal were inspected.
