New coding guidance: MUEs pierce joint injection services; CCI edits drug screens, critical care
The year’s last batch of medically unlikely edits (MUEs) contains a few changes that could impact the revenue of practices that perform joint injection codes. The latest Correct Coding Initiative update (CCI) 23.3 is small — a total of 1,634 new, revised and deleted edits — but it includes edits for practices that report drug screens or critical care services.
