Have you noticed your LCDs are missing something? CMS is moving codes out of LCDs and into Billing and Coding Articles. MACs began moving ICD-10-CM, CPT/HCPCS, Bill Type, and Revenue codes in January 2019, and will continue through January 2020. Therefore, if there is an LCD with its codes removed, you will find a companion document or a billing and coding article containing the removed codes. This respective document can be found under associated documents on the LCD.
LCDs provide valuable information such as medical necessity, general coding rules, and documentation requirements. Find-A-Code offers a variety of searchable criteria to find your MAC's LCDs. Be sure your selection is marked on the left side of the screen on our comprehensive search. Your MAC is determined by the location you set up in your account and the viewing date that your account is displaying. LCDs are searchable by code, code description, keyword, and LCD number.
