Necessity for Treatment. What is covered by Medicare?

The Maintenance Care Notice is used to assist in communication regarding Medicare coverage of chiropractic treatment. It is vitally important that both doctors and patients understand and document maintenance care.

Communicate with your patient. One way to effectively communicate is through the use of a “Maintenance Care Notice” preparatory to completing the official Advanced Beneficiary Notice (ABN) form. It makes the patient aware of Medicare’s limitations on chiropractic care.
