Acute cholecystitis

Acute inflammation of the gall bladder wall that typically affects critically ill patients. Risk factors are trauma, major surgery, bile stasis and gallbladder ischemia. The inflammation is evoked by mechanical, chemical, vascular, and bacterial inflammatory factors.
