5C61.4 Acquired monosaccharide malabsorption

This is an acquired condition in which the cells lining the intestine cannot take in one or all of the sugars glucose, galactose or fructose, which prevents proper digestion of these molecules and larger molecules made from them. It may cause osmotic diarrhoea.
