FA27.1 Pigmented villonodular synovitis International Classification of Diseases for Mortality and Morbidity Statistics, 11th Revision, v2024-01 This condition is characterised by outgrowths of synovial membrane composed of villi and fibrous nodules and is histologically characterised by hemosiderin- and lipid-containing macrophages and multinucleated giant cells. It usually occurs in the knee and hip, and is often diagnosed by Magnetic Resonance Imaging.
