Cardiorespiratory fitness is estimated from a non-exercise test model that includes gender, age, body mass index, resting heart rate, and self-reported physical activity. Capture this information via standard methods, and add the values to Jurca et al.'s (2005) worksheet. Follow the equation in the worksheet to determine the maximal MET (metabolic equivalent) level. There may be inappropriate expectations of the precision of the estimate of maximal capacity. The measure may be used to estimate relative level of cardiorespiratory fitness of an individual within a group but may not be an accurate predictor of an individual's capacity.
LOINC codes that represent optional associated observation(s) for a clinical observation or laboratory test. A LOINC term may represent a single associated observation or panel containing several associated observations.
Updated the PhenX ID from "PhenX." to "PX" in Survey Question Source field to align with the variable identifier used in the PhenX Toolkit.; Added the PhenX protocol ID to the Component to clearly define the protocol version for which this panel is based upon.
