descriptionThe amount of DNA in solution is determined by measuring the fluorescence of PicoGreen when bound to the DNA and comparing these values to known standards. PicoGreen is an intercalating dye that binds specifically to double stranded DNA. DNA concentration can also be determined using absorbance on a spectrophotometer for both single-stranded and double-stranded DNA.
