nameCervical cells.overexpressing HPV E6+E7 mRNA/cervical cells by Flow cytometry (FC)
descriptionDetects E6/E7 mRNA in sufficient quantity to demonstrate integration and expression in ectocervical cells in cervical specimens in which high-risk HPV types have been previously been detected. (This test should only be performed on specimens found to be positive by other high-risk HPV detection methods.) Detection may identify infection more likely to progress to disease as the detection of E6/E7 is not only a sign of virus within the cell, but also evidence of viral activity and thus may help discriminate the presence of CIN2+ disease. This term was created for, but not limited in use to, the LabCorp QuantaSURE mRNA based test which measures the quantity of E6/E7 mRNA per cell and then calculates the percentage of cells that are overexpressing E6/E7 mRNA.

Fully-Specified Name

componentCervical cells.overexpressing HPV E6+E7 mRNA/cervical cells
propertyNFr  =  Number Fraction
timePt  =  Point in time:  To identify measures at a point in time. This is a synonym for “spot” or “random” as applied to urine measurements.
systemCvx  =  Cervix
scaleQn  =  Quantitative:  The result of the test is a numeric value that relates to a continuous numeric scale. Reported either as an integer, a ratio, a real number, or a range. The test result value may optionally contain a relational operator from the set {<=, <, >, >=}. Valid values for a quantitative test are of the form "7", "-7", "7.4", "-7.4", "7.8912", "0.125", "<10", "<10.15", ">12000", 1-10, 1:256
