This term was created for, but not limited in use to, the absolute intensity level as classified by the 2008 Physical Activity Guidelines (PAG) for Americans. Based on the 2008 PAG, light-intensity activity expends 1.1 to 2.9 times the amount of energy expended when a person is at rest, moderate-intensity activities expend 3.0 to 5.9 times, and vigorous-intensity activities expend 6.0 or more times the energy expended at rest. | ||
