nameAsthma Control Test [ACT]
descriptionThe Asthma Control Test (ACT) is a patient-reported measure that assesses the degree of asthma control based on asthma symptoms, use of rescue medications, and effect of asthma on daily function. The 5 items ask the patient to rate asthma symptoms and related behaviors over the previous 4 weeks. Each item is scored on a scale of 1-5, with higher scores indicating greater asthma control. A total score of 20 or higher indicates well-controlled asthma [PMID: 19767070], while a total score of 19 or less indicates poorly controlled asthma [PMID: 16522452].
