nameRespiratory pathogens DNA and RNA panel - Respiratory system specimen by NAA with probe detection
descriptionThis panel is used to report the results for molecular respiratory pathogen testing in upper and/or lower respiratory specimens. This panel was created for, but is not limited in use to, the Bosch Vivalytic RTI multiplex test kit. As of March 2019, this test kit includes tests for Influenza A and B viruses, Parainfluenzavirus 1 through 4, Adenovirus B+C+E, Bocavirus 1+2+3, Human coronaviruses, Respiratory syncytial virus A and B, Rhinovirus, Enterovirus A+B+C, and Metapneumovirus, as well as Bordetella pertussis and parapertussis, Legionella pneumophila, Moraxella catarrhalis, Chlamydophila pneumoniae, Mycoplasma pneumoniae, and Haemophilus influenzae.

Associated Observations

LOINC codes that represent optional associated observation(s) for a clinical observation or laboratory test. A LOINC term may represent a single associated observation or panel containing several associated observations.

History/Usage

first released
last updated2.75
last change typeMAJ  - change to name field other than Component;
change reasonRelease 2.75: SYSTEM: There are 2 similar system's in LOINC: 1- Respiratory system 2- Respiratory specimen Due to an applied logic, the display in the System axis for 1 is Respiratory (adjective) without specification of sample, specimen, or other specific noun, while 2 is displayed fully as Respiratory specimen. Therefore for now we replaced 1 with Respiratory system specimen, which will affect 83 term. The result is replacing "Respiratory" with "Respiratory system specimen". This is the short approach. The bigger project is to potentially merge data that has either 1 or 2 together. This is a project to pass by the laboratory committee and will involve about 1500 concepts.;
