nameCholesterol in LDL [Moles/volume] in Serum or Plasma by Calculated by Martin-Hopkins
descriptionThe Martin-Hopkins method for calculating LDL cholesterol uses a variable value for the triglyceride adjustment factor, where the adjustment factor depends on the measured triglyceride and non-HDL cholesterol levels. The calculation used since the 1970s, called the Friedewald formula, uses a fixed adjustment factor of 5, which results in an inaccurate calculated LDL result when triglycerides are high or LDL-C levels are low.     Plas  =  Plasma
scaleQn  =  Quantitative:  The result of the test is a numeric value that relates to a continuous numeric scale. Reported either as an integer, a ratio, a real number, or a range. The test result value may optionally contain a relational operator from the set {<=, <, >, >=}. Valid values for a quantitative test are of the form "7", "-7", "7.4", "-7.4", "7.8912", "0.125", "<10", "<10.15", ">12000", 1-10, 1:256
