description | Standard deviation (SD) is a metric used to monitor glycemic variability (GV) and evaluate glycemic control. It represents the spread in glucose readings around the average and can be calculated different ways that vary by timescales. SD may be calculated for total variability for multiple days, within a single day, for a specific time of day over a period of time, and between days of the week.[PMID: 29916742] A recommendation is for the SD to be less than one third of the mean glucose. For instance, a patient has a mean glucose of 180 mg/dl, then the target SD is 60 mg/dl (3.3 mmol/L) or less.

scale | Qn = Quantitative: The result of the test is a numeric value that relates to a continuous numeric scale. Reported either as an integer, a ratio, a real number, or a range. The test result value may optionally contain a relational operator from the set {<=, <, >, >=}. Valid values for a quantitative test are of the form "7", "-7", "7.4", "-7.4", "7.8912", "0.125", "<10", "<10.15", ">12000", 1-10, 1:256
