description | The phorbol myristate acetate (PMA) stimulated neutrophil dihydrorhodamine (DHR) test assesses neutrophil activation and NADPH oxidase function. This test is used to diagnose chronic granulomatous disease (CGD) and complete myeloperoxidase deficiency; monitor chimerism and NADPH oxidase function after stem cell transplant, assess NADPH oxidase activity prior to transplant; and identify and monitor chromosome X inactivation changes with age in carrier females with X-linked CGD. To report results for the N-formyl-methionyl-leucyl-phenylalanine (fMLP) stimulated neutrophil DHR test, use [LOINC: 98123-3]. To report results for the fMLP and PMA stimulated neutrophil DHR test, use [LOINC: 98122-5]. | ||
