Chemotherapy treatment

Treatment of cancer with an anticancer drug is called chemotherapy. Its main purpose is to destroy cancer cells throughout the body. In some cases, it is used to slow the growth of cancer cells or to keep the cancer from spreading to other parts of the body. When the cancer has been removed by surgery, chemotherapy may be used to keep the cancer from coming back. There are more than 50 chemotherapy drugs currently available to treat cancer.
