CMS posts NCCI edits online

The National Correct Coding Initiative Edits (NCCI) for Hospital Outpatient Prospective Payment System (HOPPS) have been posted on the CMS Web site as of Jan. 1, 2004. The edits are posted as a spreadsheet that will allow users to sort by effective date. These edits also include comprehensive/component codes and mutually exclusive codes. A “Find” feature provides the capability to search for specific codes. The next quarterly update of the codes will be posted on April 1, 2004.
