CMS recognizes CPT codes for bone marrow and stem cell services
Effective January 1, 2008, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid (CMS) began recognizing CPT codes 38207 through 38215 for the reporting of bone marrow and stem cell processing services under the Outpatient Prospective Payment System (OPPS). HCPCS codes G0265 , G0266 and G0267 , which were formerly used to report these services, have been discontinued and are no longer recognized by CMS under the OPPS. On page 4 is a table of the discontinued HCPCS codes and the newly recognized CPT codes and their corresponding code descriptors.
