Coding Clinic for HCPCS Fourth Quarter 2015, Page 7, published a clarification of the advice in First Quarter 2015, indicating that codes in range 11010 - 11012 may only be assigned for the extensive debridement of fractures and dislocations that are open and not for closed fractures/dislocations.  However, Coding Clinic for HCPCS First Quarter 2018, Page 6 reiterated the rescinded advice from First Quarter 2015 and again advised that fracture debridement codes may be assigned for treatment of open or closed fractures.
