Exchange of breast implants
A patient with prior breast augmentation presented for a left breast implant exchange due to a completely deflated implant. An incision was made at the lateral inframammary fold of the left breast. The capsule was entered and the implant cavity contained the deflated, collapsed saline implant. The implant was removed, the pocket was irrigated and a new implant placed. Since CPT code 19342, Insertion or replacement of breast implant on separate day from mastectomy, is specific to replacement of breast implants in a patient who has had a mastectomy, what are the correct CPT codes(s) for non-post mastectomy breast implant replacements? ...
