Insertion of leadless cardiac pacemaker

A patient presents to have a leadless cardiac pacemaker inserted. This device is inserted percutaneously (steerable catheter) through the femoral vein and implanted into the right ventricle. This is a single-chamber pacemaker with a screw-in fixation mechanism and paces the heart with a steroid-eluting electrode. The pacemaker does not need a subcutaneous pocket created or leads from the device to the heart.
