IV Administration - What IV is used and why: A brief overview

For example, a patient with congestive heart failure (CHF), end stage renal disease (ESRD) or diabetes has medical concerns that are different from those of an otherwise healthy adult requiring an IV. The CHF and the ESRD patients have fluid and sodium restrictions whereas the diabetic has sugar (dextrose/glucose) restrictions.
