New CPT codes for a permanent leadless pacemaker
New CPT codes have been created for the reporting of a permanent leadless pacemaker. Effective January 1, 2019, the new CPT codes may be reported to capture the transcatheter insertion, replacement, and removal of a permanent leadless pacemaker in the right ventricle. Presently, leadless pacemakers are reported with CPT Category III codes 0387T , 0388T , 0389T , 0390T , and 0391T . These CPT codes will be deleted and replaced with the new permanent CPT codes listed in the table below.
