New CPT vaccination codes for COVID-19
The American Medical Association (AMA) has announced the release of immunization and administration codes for two new vaccines for COVID-19. The codes for the two-dose AstraZeneca vaccine were released on December 17, 2020 and the codes for the Janssen Pharmaceutica (a division of Johnson & Johnson) single dose vaccine was released on January 19, 2021. The newly released codes will be effective upon the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issuing Emergency Use Authorizations (EUA).
