New HCPCS Codes for the Reporting of Dermal Injections
Four (4) new Level II HCPCS codes were created by CMS to describe the dermal filler injection procedure and the dermal filler products utilized for treatment of facial lipodystrophy syndrome (LDS). Under the OPPS only HCPCS code C9800 will be recognized by CMS for the reporting of the dermal injections because C9800 describes both the injection procedure and the dermal filler items and supplies. The other three (3) HCPCS codes G0429 , Q2026 , and Q2027 will not be recognized by OPPS for outpatient hospital reporting. Check with specific payors regarding applicability of the HCPCS C-codes.
