Since that time, new guidance has become available from the American Medical Association (AMA) for physician reporting that indicates the correct code to report for this scenario is CPT code 33206 , Insertion of new or replacement of permanent pacemaker with transvenous electrode(s); atrial, for the insertion of the pacemaker generator and lead in the right atrium. In order to capture the additional lead placement in the Bundle of HIS, the AMA has advised to append Modifier 22, Increased procedural service, to code 33206 . However, since Modifier 22 is not available for facility reporting, is the correct code assignment for this procedure CPT code 33206 without a modifier or should the facility continue to report CPT code 33999 ? ...
