A patient who is status post chemoradiation for Hodgkin’s disease presents with esophageal and gastric outlet obstruction, due to progression of metastatic leiomyosarcoma to the liver, causing external compression of the gastrointestinal tract. The provider was queried regarding documentation of transaminitis, hyperbilirubinemia and elevated liver function tests, and clarified, “Acute liver injury due to metastatic liver disease and chemotherapy.” There is no documentation of a traumatic injury to the liver. However, acute liver injury is classified to subcategory S36.11-, Injury of liver.
