Ambulatory Cardiac Monitoring 89.50
Because of the rapid growth in the use of ambulatory cardiac monitoring and the costs associated with it, a new code has been provided (89.50) to permit monitoring its use and to determine its effectiveness. Until October 1, 1991, ambulatory cardiac monitoring has been included in code 89.54, Electrographic monitoring, which has grouped it with a variety of other procedures.
