Angiodysplasia
Effective October 1, 1990, new fifth-digit categories have been created for the classification of angiodysplasia. Angiodysplasia, or vascular ectasia of the intestinal tract, is a term that refers to the development of multiple ectatic, tortuous, submucosal veins and arteries anywhere in the intestinal tract which can be a source of intestinal hemorrhage. Angiodysplasia unspecified as to site is assumed to be of the intestine and 569.84 is to be assigned.
