Aortic ectasia refers to mild dilation of the aorta that is not defined as an aneurysm, usually less than 3 cm in diameter. Previously aortic ectasia was indexed to code 441.9, Aortic aneurysm of unspecified site without mention of rupture; however, patients with aortic ectasia do not have an aortic aneurysm.
