Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy Defibrillator
Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy Defibrillators (CRT-Ds) are designed to treat dysfunctional ventricular contractions and ventricular tachyarrythmias, common in patients with heart failure. The following paragraphs highlight some of the important procedural and therapeutic differences between conventional automatic implantable cardioverter defibrillators (AICDs) and CRT-Ds.
