Control of Bleeding with Hemospray®
A patient with a history of duodenal ulcer was admitted for epigastric discomfort, weakness and melena. On esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD) examination, a duodenal ulcer with adherent clot was found in the second portion of the duodenum. To treat the bleeding ulcer, two sprays of Hemospray® were applied; there was no bleeding at the end of the procedure. Since hemostatic spray was applied to control bleeding, are two codes assigned, one for Control and one for the application of the hemostatic spray? What ICD-10-PCS codes are assigned for this procedure? ...
