Debulking of Tumor and Peritoneum Ablation
A 55-year-old patient with ovarian adenocarcinoma, status post neoadjuvant chemotherapy, underwent total abdominal hysterectomy and bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy. Once the specimen was removed the surgeon performed debulking of a tumor in the pelvis, using a clamp to pinch off large tumors, followed by ablation within the peritoneal cavity. Is a separate code assigned for the ablation of the peritoneal cavity following the removal of the tumors from the pelvic cavity? ...
