We are requesting clarification on the use of codes from category Z3A, Weeks of gestation. The note at Z3A indicates that these codes are for use only on the maternal record, to indicate the weeks of gestation of the pregnancy. We need direction on what code should be used for inpatient admissions that encompass more than one gestational week.
