The patient had a normal vaginal delivery and experienced postpartum bleeding. The provider documented that a 50 ml clot was evacuated from the lower uterine segment (LUS), and the fundus was firm with cessation of bleeding. In ICD-10-PCS, would the evacuation of a clot from the lower uterine segment, fundus, be coded to the root operation “control”? If so, what body part is used, since there is no character to identify “uterus.” ...
