Fluency Disorder

Effective October 1, 2010, code 315.35, Childhood onset fluency disorder, has been created to distinguish this condition from adult onset fluency disorder. The title for code 307.0 has been revised from “stuttering” and is now used to classify “adult onset fluency disorder.” Historically, code 307.0, Stuttering, was the default. Cluttering NOS and stuttering NOS are classified to code 315.35. In addition, a new code (784.52) has been created to identify fluency disorder in conditions classified elsewhere.
