Incision and Drainage of Neck Abscess
A 63-year-old woman, who presents with right neck swelling, redness and drainage from a previous surgical incision, demonstrates a subcutaneous fluid collection on computed tomography (CT). She underwent incision and drainage (I&D) of her neck abscess. A skin incision in the right neck was done, encountering purulent drainage, followed by blunt dissection until the cavity was visualized and septations opened.
