Intrathecal Infusion Pump

The intrathecal infusion pump system is an implantable device used to deliver drug therapy for treatment of chronic pain, severe spasticity of spinal cord origin, and malignant neoplasms. The pump delivers the drug continuously to specific areas of the body, lessens dosage requirements, and reduces the side effects of drug therapy. Some patients that suffered serious sides effects from oral medications, reacted favorably to drugs delivered via the infusion pump.
