Effective October 1, 2004, a significant number of changes have been made to the code titles for conditions classified to Chapter 5, Mental Disorders (290-319). The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, fourth edition, text revision (DSM-IV-TR), is used by clinicians, researchers and administrators in the mental health services field to communicate and record diagnostic information.
