Mid-Foot Amputation
A patient, who is status post open fourth and fifth ray amputation left foot, was admitted for a left midfoot amputation at the level of the Lisfranc joint. At surgery, full-thickness necrosis and dry eschar surrounding the site of the previous ray amputations were noted. Soft tissues were dissected off the underlying metatarsal bones; the forefoot was disarticulated at the level of the Lisfranc joint/tarsometatarsal joint.
