As of October 1, 2005, assign additional code 00.40-00.43 to report the number of vessels treated. Prior to October 1, 1996, there were no specific codes to describe the insertion of non-coronary intravascular stents. These stent insertions were coded to 39.50, Angioplasty or atherectomy of non-coronary vessel, with stent(s) or stent graft(s).
