Sixty-three new codes have been created at category L97, Non-pressure chronic ulcer of lower limb, not elsewhere classified, to provide additional information regarding the severity of the ulcer. The new codes identify “muscle involvement without evidence of necrosis,” “bone involvement without evidence of necrosis” and “other specified severity.” Similarly, nine new codes have been created at subcategory L98.4, Non-pressure chronic ulcer of buttock, for the same descriptions of severity. ...
