Effective October 1, 2007, new codes have been created to describe pelvic prolapse repair procedures that are restorative and compensatory in nature. Examples of pelvic restorative surgery include: cystocele and rectocele repair ( 70.53 ) ; vaginal construction/reconstruction ( 70.63 - 70.64 ) ; vaginal suspension/fixation ( 70.78 ) ; and enterocele repair ( 70.93 ) . Additionally, new codes ( 70.94 - 70.95 ) , which differentiate the type of graft or prosthesis (biological or synthetic substance) used in these pelvic procedures have been created as well.
