Pulsatile Tinnitus

New codes were created to classify pulsatile tinnitus of the right ear (H93.A1), pulsatile tinnitus of the left ear (H93.A2), pulsatile tinnitus of both ears (H93.A3), and pulsatile tinnitus of unspecified ear (H93.A9).  Pulsatile tinnitus is described as a condition in which a beating, pulsing or whooshing sound is heard in the ear or head that is synchronous with an individual’s heartbeat.
