Sleep Disorders and Other Related Conditions
Effective October 1, 2005, an extensive expansion has been made to the sleep disorder codes. The new codes allow for the classification of major types of sleep problems, including insomnia, hypersomnia, circadian sleep rhythm disorders, sleep apnea, parasomnias, and sleep related movement disorders. The new codes are divided between the mental health chapter and the nervous system chapter, based on the etiology of the condition.
