Pacemaker or Implantable Defibrillator Systems
Effective January 1, 2015, Category III codes 0319T-0328T, which described subcutaneous implantable defibrillator systems, will be deleted and replaced with Category I codes 33270-33273. This article addresses the changes and additions made to the significantly revised and re-titled Cardiovascular System subsection, Pacemaker or Implantable Defibrillator, in the CPT® 2015 code set, as well as revised existing codes. Note that these new codes are out of numerical sequence to allow for placement within the pacemaker family of codes.
